Once Upon A Time...
The audio version of a course syllabus was created at the request of a university instructor wanting an alternative to the pages-long written syllabus for students entering his sophomore-level course. The class, Fairy Tales from Grimm’s to Disney, takes an extensive dive into the history, inspirations, meaning, and entertainment of fairy tales. Creative freedom was given for script writing as well as the creative elements – sound effects, music, and sound editing – to provide an entertaining and engaging audio syllabus. The major parameter of the project was the timeframe of an 8-10 minute recording.
Using Adobe Audition I used several audio editing features including panning, compression, fading, reverb, EQ, gain, and multitrack management to record and edit the final project.
